Give Your Life a Makeover with “Take 2: Your Guide to Creating Happy Endings and New Beginnings” by Leeza Gibbons
I’m so excited to have been selected as a member of the launch team for Leeza Gibbons’ Take 2: Your Guide to Creating Happy Endings and New Beginnings. The book, which comes out today, is a life-changer.
I’ve always been a big fan of Leeza Gibbons — not just because she is so inspiring but because she walks the walk. She openly shares her own personal history with all of its ups and downs, along with the specific tools she used to make difficult changes and take control of her life. Her stories — and her success — encourage you to do the same. She’s like a best friend who loves you, supports you and will be totally honest because she knows it’s ultimately best for you. She will give you a kick in the pants — and a hug.
The introduction to the book sets a tone which we can all relate to. Leeza quotes Louise Smith, who says, “You can’t reach for anything new if your hands are still full of yesterday’s junk,” and she makes it clear that it’s never too late to hit the reset button on your life. For those of us going through any kind of transition — from menopause or becoming empty nesters to divorce or becoming caregivers — this is truly a wake-up call. She talks about the “sagging middle” — a term used in storytelling to describe the slow parts, although it accurately describes my stage of life and body shape right now, too — and offers solid steps for transforming it into a dramatic plot twist. This was so enlightening to me because, as a writer, I totally get the idea that the first draft builds the foundation but the rewrite is where the impact lies.
Take 2: Your Guide to Creating Happy Endings and New Beginnings is a must-read for anyone who’s ready to make a change in any area of their life. It’s filled with quotes that have stayed with me and motivated me, but it’s not saccharine-sweet or one of those self-help books that make me roll my eyes. I know how hard it is to change bad habits, but I’ve started to incorporate a couple of the simple tips Leeza offers — and I’m happily surprised to tell you I see a difference already.
I can’t recommend this book highly enough, and can’t wait to hear how it’s helping you create your own new beginnings and happy endings. As Leeza says, “Change is coming for you, no matter what. It’s either gonna break into your life, or you can open the door and invite it in.”
