XCast is a free Android app that can help you with DLNA streaming. You can select photos, videos, and other media files from your internal memory or external SD card over Wi-Fi. All you have to do is download the DLNA/UPnP app to your Android phone to send media directly to the DLNAsupported devices.
Can WD my Cloud be used as a DLNA server?
I have three WD My Cloud Home devices and they make excellent Plex Video Servers for Movies and TV Series with my LG Smart TVs. I also have a WD My Cloud Ex2 Ultra that I use as a NAS and iTunes Server. If I wanted to use it as a DLNA server, it would be well suited for that as well.

How do I upgrade the firmware on my WD TV Media Player?
Connect the USB drive to the WD TV Media Player’s USB port. WD TV will automatically detect if there is a new firmware upgrade on the USB drive. Or press HOME on the remote, and then select the Alerts icon from the Home UI. Select the firmware upgrade icon, and then press ENTER.

No. The Twonky DLNA media server is embedded within the My Cloud firmware. Question 2: When I activate DLNA, will the files be available to all streaming devices on the net, or just the ones I allow?
