It’s a Makita 2708 8” saw on a stand. They were running it with a 7 1/4” blade which is just fine by me, cheap as they are. The saw seems good, but the fence seems tough to move around, though it feels good and firm once locked in place. Any suggestions on after market fence systems or other accessories I might consider to improve this saw?

Can I use a 10 inch blade on an 8 inch saw?
They no longer make a model specifically for the 8″ saw, but the present one for the 10″ easily adapts to the 8″. The best thing you can do for the saw is use a high quality 8″ blade and keep it sharp. I’ve had good luck with Freud blades and figured I’d give them a try.
