Where is Oak House at the University of Manchester?
Since the last review on here was in 2010, I thought I would do a more updated version for those wishing to live in halls at the University of Manchester. Oak House is located in the Fallowfield Campus and is made up of 5 different courts – Maple, Sycamore, Beech, Chestnut and Holly (in descending order of size).
What is it like to live in Fallowfield Hall?
Great location for halls as the fallowfield area has lots of other students from others years as well as affordable bars and restaurants which creates a positive student atmosphere. My experience within in my flat in Oak House was great as firstly it was very cheap but also had a range of other options for rooms with more luxuries.
What are the Oak House Courts like?
Oak House is divided up into 4 blocks – Beech Court, Holly Court, Sycamore Court and Chestnut Court. Unless you’re lucky enough to end up in Chestnut you won’t have a sink in your room, but that really isn’t as big an issue as you might think! The courts are divided up into blocks of 4 flats.

Oak house whilst being the bare minimum of facilities, is a good value for money, particularly with the real emphasis on social aspects- there is always something going on making it easy to interact with and meet their students nearby in a way that a student house will be difficult to match
