There are a number of easy and moderate walks around the park. Take a short walk through the forest on the Maroondah Forest Track. If you would like a longer walk you can then follow the Henderson’s Hill Track up the slope for another 1.4km.

Maroondah Reservoir, Healesville Reservoir and upstream waters are closed to fishing and there is no access to the catchment. A section of the Watts River downstream of the Reservoir, is accessible in the picnic area. However, fishing here is unsatisfactory because of shallow water.

Where does Maroondah Dam water go?
Maroondah Reservoir is filled by rainfall received by the surrounding catchments. It transfers water to Sugarloaf Reservoir and onwards to Melbourne’s northern, western and inner suburbs. When the reservoir overflows, water spills into the Yarra River. Some of this water can be pumped back out into Sugarloaf Reservoir.
