How do you target a landing in KSP?
Table of Contents
Basically, this is how I did it with a Munar target.
- Set the landed ship as your target.
- Starting about 1000km out, set up a trajectory that grazes over the target. (
- Set up a maneuver node approx 100-200km from target that overshoots by many kilometers.
- When you reach the node, do the burn. (
What is the point of planes in KSP?
Planes are highly efficient for traversing Kerbin and, after an interplanetary journey, other celestial bodies with sufficient atmosphere. They are ideal for contracts taking place on Kerbin.
How do you land a spaceplane in KSP?
To land the plane, you need to touch down on your landing gear as gently as you can. The landing gear on the Aeris-3A is the LY-10 landing gear, which has a maximum impact speed of 50 m/s. You can control your speed both by changing your thrust and by pitching up and down.
Why are rockets faster than jets?
In a rocket engine there is no incoming air that needs to be compressed, since there is already liquid oxidizer inside the rocket engine. This means rockets can travel MUCH faster than jets.
Can gliders fly in Ksp?
This may be a plane designed without engines which detaches from another lifting vehicle, or an airplane possessing a stable glide path after exhausting its fuel similarly to the real-life NASA Space Shuttles. Gliders exchange altitude for velocity. As there is no weather in KSP, no updrafts exist, so gliders can’t ascend without losing speed.
How do I land on Kerbin?
Select your landing site along your orbital trajectory. If you want Kerbin to remain visible from your landing site, select a location along your trajectory on the near side of The Mun. Wait until you are about to pass over it. Once you are above it, kill your horizontal velocity until the yellow marker sits at the top of the Navball.
What is the operational ceiling of a supersonic jet plane?
A jet plane’s ability to balance these competing demands defines its operational ceiling. On Kerbin, the highest that even supersonic jets can meet minimum intake requirements is around 40 km. Planes operating above the range of jet engines require secondary propulsion, typically rocket engines.
Is it possible to incorporate a landing stage into a rocket?
Note: It is also possible to incorporate this stage with the landing stage, though it is not recommended. The Lower Stage (Launch) Should be big enough to haul everything above it into (or at least close to) orbit above Kerbin. While not required, it is recommended that this stage incorporate some detachable Solid Rocket Boosters (SRBs).
