There is another carpark if you drive over the bridge (over the A14) which will take you to a 5-10 minute walk to the shore. Quite a steep natural/unmanaged (tree-roots etc) down to the shore. It’s well worth the effort, as the views are stunning – great ships going by and you can almost walk along the shore to underneath the Orwell Bridge.
