Whilst you cannot permanently live at a holiday village, as holiday homes are not classed as permanent residences, The Bay Filey is open all year round so you are able to whisk yourself away to your indulgent holiday home whenever you wish!

There are 29 properties to choose from – everything from a one-bedroom apartment to properties sleeping up to 10 with balconies and sea views. And all our guests have free use of the onsite leisure centre, and are just a short walk to one of the UK’s best beaches.

You can check in from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Check-out time is 10:00 AM.

Is there still a Butlins at Filey?
The camp closed in 1983. The camp was served by its own railway branch and station (Filey Holiday Camp railway station) from 1947, however the station closed in 1977 due to greater car ownership. The derelict railway station platforms remain in situ today; however they are on private land.
Is there WiFi at the Bay Filey?

The Valley is only a ten minute walk from The Bay, although it takes a while to find the shops once in the grounds of Primrose Valley; the other reason is that they are not available at the Bay! The Bay is made of brick built houses, flats and New England style lodges .

Is Primrose Valley the old Butlins?
The derelict railway station platforms remain in situ today; however they are on private land. Part of the old camp was replaced by Primrose Valley holiday park, and the adjacent “The Bay Filey” holiday resort.
Is Primrose Valley the old Butlins site?
The Camp had largely been demolished in the late 80’s, but by the time I visited, extensive ruins were still standing in some areas of the camp. The site has today been cleared and largely overtaken by Primrose Valley Holiday Park.
