Completing your DofE Award is a great attainment, with a self-satisfying “I did it!” Although the award requires a lot of effort, time and dedication, it’s well worth it. That feeling when you finally take off your walking boots and realise you have completed your challenge is immense.
Can you just do Gold DofE?
You can complete the Gold DofE award without having completed Silver, however it will take longer (it doesn’t make a difference if you’ve completed Bronze).

What is the DofE logo?
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award logo is a registered trademark, and must only be used by those authorised to do so. All Licensed Organisations are authorised to use the logo and they can in turn authorise their DofE centres and groups to use it.
What happens if you complete Gold DofE?
On completion of your Gold programme, you must complete the Gold Award Form on eDofE. Forms submitted through eDofE will be sent for approval automatically. Printed forms should be sent to your Leader who will sign it and send it to your Licensed Organisation and DofE Regional/ Country office to authorise.

Does gold DofE give UCAS points?
That’s right, even with walking 14 Miles a day on the Gold DofE, UCAS points are not awarded (though a shiny Duke of Edinburgh gold medal is up for grabs). Silver DofE UCAS points also do not exist and so it will come as no surprise that the Bronze DofE follows the same pattern.

Do you go to Buckingham Palace for Gold DofE?
We hold Gold Award events in three cities: London at St James’s Palace and in Buckingham Palace Gardens – approximately 10 days a year. Scotland at the Palace of Holyroodhouse – one day a year. Northern Ireland usually at Hillsborough Castle – one day a year (for residents of Northern Ireland only).

How do I get my Gold Award badge or brooch?
You should receive your Gold Award badge or brooch from your Licensed Organisation (LO) when you complete your Award. If you do not receive this, please get in touch with your LO or DofE Regional Office. Please remember to wear your badge or brooch on the day of the presentation.
How do I get a DofE badge and certificate?
When you achieve your Bronze or Silver Award you will be given a DofE badge and certificate by your Licensed Organisation (LO)/centre. When you achieve your Gold Award you will receive the badge or brooch from your LO or centre. You can choose between a badge or a brooch, which comes in a velvet pouch.
How do you wear the Duke of Edinburgh Award badges?
These badges are suitable to be worn on a jumper or a No 1 dress. The ACF version of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Badges is very similar to the standard badges, however this badge is suitable to be worn on ACF cadets, if you are in the ACF we recommend you purchase this badge instead of the other version.
How do I get a replacement gold badge or certificate?
We advise that it’s at the discretion of the DofE Regional/Country office where the individual undertook their DofE programme (i.e. where their LO was located) to issue replacement Gold badges or certificates.
